A Weekend Getaway at The Dove Inn

Last Saturday, Ross and I hit the slopes of Breck for our first ski day of the season, but we retired early from the mountain because we had booked a night’s stay at The Dove Inn in Golden, Colorado. Golden is an easy drive from the mountains because it is nestled close to Denver and Boulder, but I’ve honestly never explored it before.

When we drove into town, I immediately loved all of the little shops and the ability to walk anywhere. Once we parked our car, we had no need for it the rest of the weekend. There was a Bluegrass Festival going on, so town was busy, but we didn’t struggle to get a reservation at the Mexican place near our Inn. The small town vibe was apparent, but it still had a good bit of Colorado charm and mountain town feels.

Now, to our stay! The Dove Inn is a boutique hotel and a Bed & Breakfast of sorts, but it has a much more laid back vibe. Though other people were staying at the Inn at the same time as us, we only saw a couple of people leaving for dinner, and it felt like we were alone in the giant house. You enter the Dove with a code on the door, and another code gives you access to your room (we stayed in the Serenity Suite). The rooms are spacious and beautiful, and if you watched my Instagram stories, Ross was obsessed with the bathroom and tub.

My favorite area was the kitchen and dining room, which was stocked with quick, healthy breakfast options like Noosa yogurt and gluten-free granola, as well as coffee, tea, and kombucha on tap (no complaints here)! The charm of the hotel was undeniable, and it was the perfect blend of hotel-quality service and Air BnB privacy. If you are heading to the mountains any time soon, I highly recommend booking a room at The Dove Inn! Check out more of my pictures below, and shoot me a message if you have any questions! Their staff is wonderful, so don’t hesitate to reach out to them, as well.
